Seven And One Half Hours

Seven and one half hours!

That is the number of hours the news team was able to sleep. Thanks to our wonderful Judges for excellent time management and preservation of our National event!

Thank you to all the volunteers, committees, and friends who have supported the field trial sport always and especially over the last month!!! The National Championship could not happen without all of the gracious people who donate their resources for the 2016 NARC.

92. FC-AFC-AFTCH Jaybar American Idol, "Reuben," LM, Barbara Younglove

Reuben had a no bird and came up to the line 20 minutes later.

Came to the line the rerun at 4:11 pm

GO: nailed it!

HF: exited the pond at the gun station got a bit left and est a hunt just shy of the fall, then worked up the hill to the treeline for a couple passes before coming down the hill to scoop up the bird.

RR: swam straight to the area and put his nose on it!

DF: Swimming very wide right then turn in left, one loop and the bird.

82. FC-AFC Coolwater's Hawkeye Legend, "Legend," LM, Alex Washburn

came to the line at 3:23 pm

GO: smacked it!

HF: drove a bit deep of the fall and quick turned for a rapid retrieve!

RR: front-footed the mark!

DF: swam straight to the bird and pinned it!

came to the line at 3:04 pm

GO: pinned it!

HF: stepped on it!

RR: drilled it!

DF:swam to the right past the point on the right-hand shore, kept straight and swam to the end, then turned toward the fall into the area and scooped up his bird.

Came to the line at 3:03 pm

GO: swam toward the boat then toward the flyer made 3, got a bit right and deep of the boat made one big loop and straight to the bird.

HF:swam toward the area exited and put her nose on the bird.

DF: took off made a spin and came back to the handler's side and then the dog was resent and took off on a path swimming left of the gun station, est a hunt on the left then down to the water, swam over to the right of the station and then over to her bird.

RR: ran at the gun station veered to the left and front-footed

72. FC-AFC Fresh Squeezed Juice, "Juice," LM, Mark Medford

Came to the line at 2:15 pm

GO: great mark!

HF: another long flyer out of the area, the dog quartered up the hill side to put up a smart hunt and grab his bird.

RR: straight to the bird.

DF: swam to the area in front of the guns -got out and made a few loops to grab his bird.

70. FC-AFC Greenwing Tall Timber, "Krumz," LM, Craig Stonesifer

Came to the line at 1:56 pm

GO: swam to the tip of the point and got his bird

HF: exited the water & worked his way up to put his foot on the bird.

RR: traveled toward the gun station made a couple quick passes on the point for a rapid retrieve.

DF: swam to a point in front of the gun station, exited on the point, ran up the hill left of the gun station, made a loop around to snatch up his bird.

The dog broke on the second flyer shot.

"The Judges allowed the dog to retrieve the birds out of respect for the dog, the handler and the sport!"

Came to the line at 1:15 pm

GO: Smacked it!

HF: est a hunt just shy of the fall and quickly worked it out!

RR: the bird landed in the water with a splash, the dog went straight to the bird.

DF: swam to the area in front of the guns exited and made a few loops in the area before scooping up his bird.

How It's Done …

We were a little concerned that this year's National Amateur would have poor connectivity... so far only two tests were tricky with "getting word out!" That's pretty good. Thanks for your patience when it's been poor connectivity and thank you for your compliments when it's been good reception. We have enjoyed bringing you this event via the blog and sharing this great venue with you all! Thank you for your support!

21. FC-AFC In The Hunt Farm's Executive Sweet, "Sweet," LF, Linda Bogusky

Came to the line at 12:50 pm

GO: swam past the point turned and grabbed the bird.

HF: swam straight to the area made one large loop up the hill than over to the area to snatch up her bird.

RR: entered the mark just to the right of the gun station, jumped into the woods, out of sight for a bit then reappeared hunting the treeline and worked over to the point to retrieve the bird.

DF: swam a perfect line toward the bird, made a pass to the left then to the right along the shore before going into the area to retrieve her bird.

19. FC-AFC Good Idea's Outta Sight, "Stevie," LM, Ken Neil

came to the line at 12:07

GO: swam to the boat made a few loops around the boat and then went to the bird.

HF: exited just left of the gunners, hunted where the gunners stood to throw, went toward the waters edge hunting before driving up to the hill top, hunted on the hill top before making way to the area and retrieving the bird.

RR: made a loop and a scoop for a nice mark!

DF: swam a perfect line toward the area, est a hunt a bit short of the fall, made a few passes on land and had his bird.

HF: exited just left of where the gunners stood to throw the bird.

RR: traveled down the shore jumped in the pond swam left of the fall then up to the gun station and out to the point to snatch up the bird.

DF: swam down the middle of the pond, est a hunt in the water near the shore before exiting under the arc to drive up the hill into the fall area.

HF: went thru the channel to the base of the hill and straight to the bird.

RR: front-footed the mark!

DF: the dog arrived in the area est a hunt in and around the area before finding a bird.

Came to the line at 10:55 am

GO: smacked it!

HF: the flyer was shot longer and further down the hill than all the rest, the dog arrived in the scent of the area hunted it hard in and around the area before having to be Handled to retrieve a LIVE hen pheasant out of the fall area. two quick whistles got the dog to the bird.

RR: front-footed it!

DF: swam just deep of the fall exited deep of the fall and made a few loops and had the bird.
